My Story: How Breathwork & Somatic Healing Changed My Life

For most of my life, my body didn’t feel like a safe place to be. I grew up in an environment that stripped me of my sense of safety, autonomy, and trust in myself. Surviving childhood trauma, abuse, and years of being disconnected from the outside world left me feeling like I was constantly in fight-or-flight mode, always braced for the next blow.

 

Even when I left those circumstances behind, the imprint of them stayed in my body. I experienced it as chronic anxiety, dissociation, insomnia, and an overwhelming sense of not belonging. No matter what I did, I felt disconnected—from myself, from others, from life.

 

Not knowing how to regulate or what was even happening to me, I did what I could to cope. Food, substances, binge-watching, endless scrolling—anything to escape the discomfort. But none of it helped in the long run. If anything, it made the cycle worse.

 

I tried therapy, meditation, even medication—but nothing seemed to touch the deeper, underlying wound: I didn’t feel safe in my own body. No amount of mindset work or talking through my pain could shift the way I felt physically. I knew I needed something different—something that didn’t just work on my thoughts, but on the way my nervous system had been wired to keep me in survival mode.

 

One day, I decided to try Breathwork. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew I was ready for something new.

 

That first session changed everything.

 

For the first time, I felt something shift inside of me. Not in my mind, but in my body. A lifetime of tension, fear, and holding everything in started to unravel, breath by breath. It was the first time I experienced what it felt like to be fully present in my body without fear.

 

But what truly changed my life was what I discovered next.

 

I realized that everything I had been experiencing—the anxiety, the numbness, the overwhelm—wasn’t just in my head. It was my nervous system, doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect me. My body wasn’t broken. It wasn’t working against me. It had just been stuck in survival mode for so long that it forgot how to feel safe.

 

I became obsessed with understanding the science of the nervous system—why trauma is stored in the body, how dysregulation shapes our emotions, and most importantly, how we can rewire our biology to feel safe, empowered, and in control again.

 

And now, this is what I teach.

 

Through breathwork and somatic healing, I guide women to step into their power—not by “fixing” themselves, but by reconnecting with the strength that has always been inside them. I show women how to regulate their nervous systems, how to release what no longer serves them, and how to finally feel at home in their own bodies.

 

Because healing isn’t about forcing yourself to change—it’s about remembering who you are underneath all the fear, conditioning, and survival responses.
